How do you refinish putters?

I have this rossa daytona but when i went to change the grip this kid dropped it on the concrete and scratched it up how do i refinish it?

Do you have to refinish it completely? Can't the scratches be filled in with a similiar colored stain and then buffed on a soft wheel to bring out the finish ? Check with a person who refinishes furniture before you go ballistic to find a refinisher.
