How do you take classes online?

How do I take classes online as a highscool student? I want to take a class over the summer so I can skip it next year. Are there free programs online where it teaches you the subject?

The only free online programs I know of are paid for by the public school system. Most of them in my area are only available to adult students, to accommodate their lives.

Your best starting point is your school board, then other school boards in your area. It is somewhat late in the summer, so there may be none starting at an appropriate time.

Another alternative is online open universities. Some offer high school credits OR upgrading credits for student who wish to study at university but do not currently have a diploma. Bring this information to your school board and ask if they will give you credit for successfully completing these courses. As universities are private, this will cost you.
