Hi, I need to phone a collect call from Toronto, Canada, to Vancouver, Canada. How is it done?

You do not "phone a collect call". A collect call is one in which you reverse the charges and the bill for the call goes to the person who GETS the call, not the person making the call. I accept collect calls ONLY for a life and death emergency. There better be a broken bleeding body involved or it does not fit the category of emergency. A collect call is one of the most expensive kinds of calls per minute. Why would, or should I want to pay for the call if YOU want to talk to ME anyway? I accept collect calls under another conditions, come to think of it, if I ask YOU to call ME. If there is no emergency (I mean the kind where a bleeding body needs MY attention, not that you have a hangnail) and I did not ask you to call, I'll be polite and gracefully end the call as soon as I can and I will NEVER accept another collect call from you, period. That said, making such a call is quite easy. You pick up the phone, press 0 for the operator and follow the prompts if you have a voice menu system, or simply tell the operator if you find you are actually speaking with a real person. The system will connect you to the number you want to call and ask the receiver if they will accept the charges. If the receiver says YES or presses the right number, you are connected and you do what you have to do. That, is how it is done. It is simple, easy, but it costs an arm and a leg per minute.
