  1. Basketball itself does not make you grow taller. However regular exercise stimulates growth. So by keeping an active lifestyle you are helping yourself grow.

You are still limited by your genes though. If your family is all short, you are likely going to be a shorter person, but by keeping the active lifestyle you may not be quite as short.

  2. It doesn't.

While you might stretch a bit when jumping up and reaching for the ball or taking a shot it is offset when you land a get scrunched down a little bit.

So the two things end up canceling each other out.

  3. Ya the stretching and jumping. when you jump your leg muscles get a little stretch and when you do that a lot then they learn to stay that way which makes you taller, thats how basketball players like Power forwards and Centers are so tall. they spent there entire life's doing jump balls and tying to dunk that they stretched out there legs over the years and became that tall.

  4. Where the h**l did you here that? That is not true.

  5. Dont listen to these other people saying that basketballl doesn't make you grow because playing basketball does make you grow. Like when you jump to get a rebound or trying to dunk or stretch to get the ball makes you get taller may'be not a whole lot but it does make you taller. why do you think everyone in the nba is tall as h**l.

  6. stretching and jumping make you taller, which is incorporated into bball play,

and conditioning as in pull ups also makes you taller

  7. hey

  8. Well not really...there people in da nba dat played bball there entire life and some arent dat tall. Nate Robinson

  9. stretching and it mainly makes you jump higher
