How does one play chinese spit?

I used to know how to play, but now I forgot. I checked wikiHow, but the instructions were decipherable. I would appreciate it, if you could tell me how.

Get out a deck of cards. Take out the jokers. Take it, and make a pile of 24 cards for each person. Give one deck of 24 cards to one person, and you take the other.

Set up the game by putting one 9 cards down in the middle, and one card up on top of the pile. Then put 2 cards next to it, not stacked. If you come with 2 cards the same, put it in the pile, and get more and put it there. Do it with all the cards.

Put all the leftover cards to your right, in the middle of your cards set up and the other player's. Say "Spit", and place a card up from that pile.

Get your cards and go 1 up or down from the other. Lets say that the card you "spit" was 2. You can put a 3 or Ace. Remember, if you got a pile of cards the same, put the whole pile down. Get more cards and replace them under your little pile with the face up card on top, and remember, if you get multiple of same thing, put in a pile and still get more. However, if you don't get enough, just leave it.

Slap the lowest pile, or if there is only one, slap the opposite side of the only 1 pile. Take the pile you slapped, and the loser gets the rest of the cards.

Repeat this whole article until you have no cards at all
