Whenever a new product is made, it requires raw materials (things like trees to make paper, metal ore to make cans, fossil fuels to make plastics, etc.) and it requires energy (the power for machines to extract the raw materials from the earth, the power for the factories to produce the products, etc.).

For every brand new aluminum can that is made, aluminum has to be extracted from the earth.  For every new glass bottle, silica (sand) has to be taken from the earth. You get the picture.

The genius of recycling is that, while it still requires power to make new products, it requires far less raw material.  By recycling paper, plastic, metal, and glass, we can dramatically slow down the rate at which we take raw materials out of the earth.

The bottom line is that by recycling, we're keeping more of the earth here for longer.

if u recycle things they can be used over again unlike garbage where u throw it away and it is burned and the ashes go down into the earth. The ashes have chemicals and substances that can harm us if close by and that is why garbage is burned on hills so that over the years those ashes can eventually become minerals and nutrients for the soil. Also by recycleing more u could help save by the environment; not by a lot but when u add all the little things up the make a big aumont.

Recycling is a process were certain materials like plastic, metal, paper, and  glass are decomposed and are renewed so they could be used again. By recycling 1ton of paper we actually save 17 trees, by recycling 2 ton of plastic we save one ton of petroleum and if we recycle glass we save up to 44% of energy. Please help the enviorment, help yourself and help the world because there aren't second oportunities and we could all use a better place to live.
