How does yahoo answers work?

okay, so i signed up and i get the hole.. answer and ask buisness.. but how do you get the " best answer" catagory , and do you get extra points for answering the best?

The person who asks the question can pick you if they choose.  Or it may go to voting and the members can vote for you.  Either way you get 10 points.  Consider this:  To get the asker to pick you as best answer you must answer intelligently.   Answer questions that you know the answer to and give detailed information if possible.  Or when giving advice make it helpful.  Stupid answers like "I don't know" are just for people who want rack up 2 points at a time.  Answer with the intent to help asker and when you get picked, you know you've helped someone.

The person who asked the question picks the best answer based on what they were looking for. You get ten points for each best answer you give compared to 2 ( I believe) for a regular answers. Hope this helped :)
