How fast does gravity move?

I already know the answer, I just want to see if anybody else does.

  1. Um... you mean the *effects* of gravity?  It moves at the speed of light. So, if the sun were suddenly "beamed" someplace else, nothing on Earth would change for about 8.3 minutes, then, *finally*, we'd see that the sun was *gone*.  But, for that 8.3 minutes, Earth would continue to orbit the spot where the sun was, until space finally "unwarped" due to the sun's sudden departure.

  3. Gravity is not an object that can move.   Gravitity is the universal force of attraction betweeen all masses in the universe.   Masses can move in response to gravity. But graavity itself doesn't move.  You may be confusing gravity with gravitational waves which theoretically move but have never been detected.
