Question:

How great?

Just how great do you want people to think you are in pool. Pros want to be considered great so as to endorse products and receive appearence money at tournaments and openings but their gambling cover is blown already so who cares. Touring road players and even club champions normally like to stay in the shadows, but then what do I know. My question is simply what level of player are you and how great do you want people to think you are?

  1. i'm not one to brag about my playing skills...i think if you're a good player, you don't have to go around bragging about yourself....let the ppl find out for themselves..you don't even have say anything.......you'll know you're good when you hear things about yourself from ppl you have never met...or when someone's afraid to play against you because "they heard" you're a tough shot..or when complete strangers come to you and call you "pool shark" or ask you where you're gonna play next...when you hear things like that.......that's when you know you're no noodle arm :P        DreO

  2. Age slowed me down. But my wise old head serves me well in the game. I like when people think I'm over the hill so I can beat them easier.

  3. Well , let's just say  1 is a beginner , struggles with easy shots and can barely run 2 balls. And 10 is a well seasoned, top of the line, money player. I'd say that puts me at about a 7 or an 8 if i'm hot. I shoot at a 7 level in the league for whatever that's worth. As long as people see me as a fair player , good sport and a true competitor thats ok by me. 20 or 30 years ago my answer would of been a little different. Played a lot more back then and that makes a big difference. Might of been a 9 back then. I said might!

  4. The biggest chump in the room

Dont hang a flashing light over a trap

I dont even use the same name-and dress down for the game -flash it After you have it-Dont worry the sponser will find you .I could name you 2 dozen you never heard of that make more than the top 10 pros .Im sure you can to.

  5. I honestly think that I'm probably above average but I admit that I have a long way to go.  Even though I've been playing for years, I've only recently begun to start doing things correctly and I still have years of bad habits working against me.  As far as how I want people to view me and my skill...I want people to know that I'm not someone they can intimidate and that they'll have to play a good game to beat me.  I get no satisfaction from beating somebody who doesn't care if they win or lose.  Whoever I play, I want their best game.  M.D.-BCA Instructor/Referee.

  6. I think I'm a good player, just good enough for people to say that yes, I'm good, or at least decent, but I'm definitely not great. I just started playing again about a year ago after 3 years of not holding a pool cue at all, and just before that lay-off, about four years of playing sporadically, and I've pretty much been improving constantly since I started back. Recently though, I think I've been getting a little bit of my own credit instead of just getting credit for being the wife of someone well-known locally. I never want people to think I'm better than I am because I don't  want people to watch me play for a few minutes and walk away saying, "Oh, she's not that good." (Yet another reason girls aren't as good as men-- the constant worry of what other people are thinking about how they play) I do have the desire to be great, though. One day, maybe.
