Hello. How is Bolivia. Is it cool in bolivia?

I was talking to somebody from europe he is in argentina he said that he didnt really like bolivia that he didnt like the president there and that in Bolivia it might can be Dangerous there now or not safe at some parts of Bolivia because some guys was fighting with some other guys because they didnt like some things that the president did or something. That there is a political fight over there. What is that political fight about basically?

Is it mostly tourists from the usa in bolivia and is there many tourists that visit other cities besides la paz. I know La paz bolivia sometimes there is a few tourists there here and there. It seems maybe some from the usa.

In other cities besides La paz Bolivia is there that many tourists there like in La Paz Bolivia and is there many tourists there from europe or mostly the united states?

What do you think about Bolivia.

  1. The Political and economic crises help make it cheaper for tourists.  it is only very violent near blockades during political actions.  It is actually quite safer than peru, typically, but very poor people & alcohol don't always mix well with wealthy westerners.

Argentines never liked Bolivia, it has nothing to do with the natural gas price hike.  They consider Bolivians to be poor, uneducated "indios".

US tourists now need a visa, as decreed by the new President.

There are many fantastic cities - Santa Cruz is in the jungle and the wealthiest, Cochabamba and Sucre are important cities halfway between the altiplano and jungle.  Potosi sits on what used to be the biggest silver mines in the world. It was the richest city in the world at one time and had a population as big as London in the 17th century.  Uyuni is a wind swept forgotten city on the fantastic salt flats.  Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid got gunned down in the south.  Rurrenabaque has some of the best jungle tours in South America.

  2. In this moment Bolivia and Perú are dangerous, cause the presidents are left way and you know what happened.

I'm peruian guy but I work in Chile, is a calm country, with a freeway like United State of america, with beautiful beachs, country, if you want, watch this web site and choose a new destiny.

    www.camoprop.blogspot.com

they work with a elegant lodging with slow rate and luxury apartments and houses so cheap for european people and americans

  3. Bolivia has had 190 coups and revolutions since 1825.

Last week they had a nasty confrontation in Cochabamba which started with the Cocaleros, (coca farmers) burning down the Governors house.

The new president wants a communist state with the altiplano indians ruling.

There are 5 departamentos (states) that want autonomy. Santa Cruz which is where the main part of Bolivias revenue comes want a 2/3 vote in the government before any laws are past the president wants 51%. He wants to rewrite the constitution. The president has the support of Cuba and Chavez in Venezuela. People in Santa Cruz and the other 4 states are even thinking of breaking away from the Country

People in Santa Cruz are making a lot of noise but I dont know how they would defend themselves

I find more Europeans in Bolivia than Americans. The Gringo trail goes now up through Tupiza, Salar de Uyuni, La Paz and Copacabana on Lake Titicaca.

Tourists are a main source of revenue so except for roads maybe being blocked it is ok to take the gringo trail

Tourists only come to Santa Cruz for flights and to take the train to Brazil

  4. According to recent newspaper accounts, Americans account for a relatively small proportion of tourists (25-30%) and the bulk are from Europe.  Evo Morales is the first indigenous president and has a socialist agenda.  He wants to redistribute resources to help the poor Indian population.  The only riches in the country are in the gas and oil fields in the South.  This is also there area where there are few indigenous people.  They want autonomy.  It is a very difficult struggle.  Unless a person is in the middle of an area of conflict, Bolivia is still a very peaceful country.  One of the reasons that the Argentinians don't like Bolivia's president is that he has dramatically increased the price that Argentina pays for natural gas.  That has to hurt.
