How is Calica, Mexico?

Question

I'm taking my first cruise with Carnival Cruise Lines and I'm we're going to Key West FL, and Calica Mexico. Will I enjoy myself at those destinations?

You are going to have a great time at those destinations. I went on my first cruise last April on the Imagination to Key West and Calica. And I thought for it to be my very first cruise it was great. I have pictures if you would like to see them. When I went to Key west all we did was walk around town b/c we had to be back on the boat by 1:30pm but the water there is nice the people are nice as well. And, in Calica as soon as you get off of the ship there are shops set up but don't buy from them b/c you can get in cheaper intown. Also, we rented a minivan and drove to town becauase all of the taxis took to long, beside it was fun driving in another country. As soon as you get to town there is a Wal-Mart and McDonalds (which I was surprised to see). We went jetskiing for cheap plus you can do some great shopping for like little money. I hope you have a great time I know I did.

Calica is much smaller than Cozumel, and Cancun.

Our shipped docked at a rock quarry,and the shops were tents... don't buy// ride the taxis into town..

I keep getting Progresso/ and Calica mixed up in my mind.

I think Progresso offers a free shuttle bus ride to town,, has nice beach,,nice shops... long lines for the shuttle back to ship.

Calica// beautiful beach w/ beach front shops/ restaurant.. nice people.. the t-shirts also say "cancun:  I think// don't quote me on that one..

Been twice,,but have been to so many islands.. i would have to go back and look at pictures..lol.

but you will have fun.
