How is Costa Rica in September?

I am going to Costa Rica in two weeks. I heard this is the rainy season. Will this still be a good trip (with some sunny time on the beach and canopy tours)? Or should I route my trip some where else and save Costa Rica for a later date???

  1. Most tourists come during the dry season. However, many tourists prefer to come during the "wet season" (also known as the green season) because they can avoid the crowds and often find cheaper accommodations and services.

It rains a lot during the rainy season, but it's still warm and you the rain stops often, which gives you a time of nice weather.

If you come during September, just make sure you bring clothes for the rain.

  2. It's beautiful!  It usually was sunny in the morning and rainy in the late afternoons for an hour or two.  In the two weeks I was there there in the rainy season there were one or two days were it poured all day.

  3. I was there at the beginning of august. Yes it rains but its no reason not to go. It stops a lot and starts up again, which in some ways is nice.

And it does rain really heavily, so be prepared for that. But in many ways, that makes it all the more beautiful.

  4. it rains, a lot. but you'll have time in the mornings that are sunny. most of the time is the the afternoons only. you'll enjoy it

  5. I got back 2 weeks ago.. the sun rises at 5:30 and it doesnt start raining till around 4 pm. As long as you book your activities early, you shouldnt have a problem with the rain. We went river rafting, zip lining, hiking, and hung out at the beach..  We saved money going this time a year and had a blast
