How is NYC and London alike?

I love ny and i am visiting london how are they alike?

They're both really big cites, the people are all diverse..even more than ny, there's diff. types of shops and food just like in ny

Both have served as capitals for their respective nations (London still does), both have very large populations and are the largest metro areas by population in their respective countries, both are the financial seats of their respective nations, and when people in each respective nation say they are going to The City, they mean they are going to New York or London respectively.  Both predominantly speak English, but also have significant pockets of other language speakers living in them.  Both have several major professional sports teams that often place highly within or win outright their respective leagues (New York Yankees, New York Giants, Chelsea Football Club, Arsenal Football Club).  Both have excellent and vast public transport- so much so that you can live in either place and not need to own a car.  Both have world-famous iconic bridges (the Brooklyn Bridge and the Tower Bridge).  Both have recently been hit with major terror attacks (9/11/01 in NYC and 7/7/05 in London).  Both have skyscrapers,though London's are not as tall or as numerous and NYC's (the tallest building in London would only rank 17th in NYC).
