How is organic farming sustainable?

got a test tomoz want to know why its more sustainable then intensive farming?

I agree totally with Amanda,it's a con.You can not produce something from nothing.If you do not feed the land with some form of fertiliser,or control pests that are h**l bent on consuming the item before you have chance to harvest, then you are not going to produce a viable crop.

So the answer quite simply is,it's not !

It's more sustainable because it's a marketing scam and the public falls willingly into the hands of advertising and believes in it... if you eat organic, don't honestly believe that you are eating any different thanthey guy eating the non-organic food on the next shelf for half the price... I am from an agricultural background, and have toured organic farms as part of my post secondary education... if you look at when the organic trend started, and how quickly so many organic farmers popped up out of nowhere, even though it takes between 15 and 25 years of no chemicals, pesticides, herbicides etc to be certified organic, dont' you wonder how all these farmeres are now certified suddenly? It's marketing people, that's why it's sustainable. Because the general public is dumb enough to believe they are eating something that is healthier, when in fact, it's not a l**k different.

Look to be honest with you i reckon that it is because normal farming you use spray and chemicals to make the plants grow faster and stuff, therefore don't you think that if these are really bad chemicals ((that get into air) are just causing even more pollution as because organic food doesn't use chemical spray it doesn't cause any pollution!
