Hi, I work where i have to heat up the plastic case of cellphones by heat gun(hot air blower about at 650F ) for about 30 sec till it will be melt a bit.

I can smell lot's buring smell when i work on this.

the plastic looks melt and little bit bubbled up.

It doesn't get on fire or turn into black but about brownish color and melt.

I heard if you burn the plastics on fire, it will produce toxic fumes. but i wonder if in my case is safe to work with.

thanks

  1. When it melts and starts to bubble it releases toxins.  Hydrocarbons and all sorts of stuff.  Get your employer to provide respirators to the workers as well as safety goggles at a minimum.

  2. the closest  thing to this to look into is called (meat wrappers disease)... please look into this
