  1. wait the 6 weeks i know its hard, im going though the same thing... your body needs that long to heal, plus if you have stiches, OWWW! it will more than likely be painful. definately get on birth control and use condoms too because it is dangerous to get pregnant within a year of having your baby. congrats!

  2. I think you might need to have the stitches taken out. Also make sure you have some form of birth control, unless you are ready to get prego again, it happened to my friend!

  3. its better to wait 6 weeks even if u stopped bleeding before that.

  4. You really should wait 6 weeks.  This gives your body a chance to heal.  Most doctors tell you not to stick anything up there for at least 6 weeks.  I wouldn't chance it.  You are in the position to get a very serious infection that may affect your future ability to have children.  Please be careful and in the mean time try to find other ways to be intimate.

  5. Give yourself time to heal on the inside. When the stitches are fully dissolved, then you can try having s*x, with condoms and lots of lube. Your insides are battered and bruised too from birth, and that's why 6 weeks is standard before intercourse. The doctors want to make sure you're intact and healed before allowing s*x. The last thing you need right now is a tear inside there from intercourse that could lead to an infection. Take time and heal, let your body and the doctor be the judge. Congrats on the lil one!

  6. My midwife told me I could start having s*x as soon as I felt healed.  However, I didn't get any stitches.  Since you did, I don't know if it would be different.  I would say wait until you get them taken out or until the doctor approves you.  If you re-injure yourself it will really hurt.  I've done it!

You might call your doctor up and ask over the phone.

One more thing, I stopped bleeding at three weeks and had s*x and immediately started bleeding heavily again.  It wasn't quite as heavy as right after I gave birth but not far from.  It lasted a week before it stopped again.  That is a possibility too.

  7. the reason you need to wait six weeks is not for the bleeding to stop, it is for your cervix and uterus to heal.  right now your cervix is wide open and extremely susceptible to infection.  it is very dangerous to have s*x so soon after having a baby, you could risk giving yourself an infection that could make you sterile or possibly kill you, not a smart idea.  trust me, its better to wait.
