Around 2 in the morning I took Dulcolax, and right now it is 1:45 in the afternoon and my stool is still loose, like it's like I have diarrhea, but only it is worse because whenever I have to go to the bathroom my stomach hurts and I get this feeling like I might pass out but then I am fine after I go to the bathroom, how long will the laxative keep doing this for, because I only needed it for a one time thing, oh and I'm 15 and was it safe for me to take a laxative, on the box it said you can take it if you are 12 years old or older and I'm wondering if it has anything to do with my age, I mean you might be able to take it at 12 but maybe the recommended age is like 18

  1. wait it out it will pass soon,

it depends on your system how fast and long it will work ,

  2. I never heard of anyone dying of a laxative so you probably just have to wait it out. Usually, i think they last 6-12 hours.

  3. I sounds like it could last 24 hours for you.

Laxatives are very harsh on one's system & usually do cause cramps.

You are better off trying 1 glass of prune juice each AM or something with high fiber like Metamucil which is a fiber product.

Also, you can try the cereal Fiber One which if you take 2 servings you've got your entire day's requirement for fiber.

Remember to drink lots of water when you take fiber.

    Good luck
