  1. it varys based on a lot of things.

most of the times I got a notice, I didn't get picked so I only had to be in the waiting room for a half day.

When I got picked for city court, I had to report once a week for a month, but they never needed us, so we were sent home early every time.

when I got picked for a trial in county court, I got a murder trial that ended up lasting half a year, but the judge set it up so that all the testimony was in the afternoon so that we were at least able to do our regular job in the morning

  2. It depends on if you are selected or not and how long the trial is. Times will vary depending on those things. Even if you are not selected you can still be there for quite some time. They usually select potential jurors for several cases and it takes a while to pool those names and select them for each case that they are needing a jury for.

  3. That all depends on the circumstances.  If it's average people in average circumstances you may be for a week or two, maybe less.  My Grandmother was on the jury for a vehicular homicide case and it took about 7 days.

If you are a jury for a BIG CASE (remember O. J. Simpson) then you are in the jury for however long they need you to be.
