  1. Mr. Perfect's answer is pretty good.  I would add, however, that the moon is "out," that is, it is above the horizon, a different amount for different places on Earth.

I you were out the south pole, for instance, you might be able to see the moon rise, and stay up for many days.  Similarly, there would be days when you would not see it at all.

At 40 degrees north latitude, where I live, the moon was, a few nights ago, in the southern constellation of Sagittarius.  It rose in the Southeast, got up only about 25 degrees high at around midnight and then set in the Southwest.  It was "up" for only about 8 hours.

However, if the moon were in the Northern constellation of Gemini, it would rise in the Northeast, stay up for 15 or so hours, and then set in the Northwest.

Also, the moon moves about 12 degrees eastward each night.  Over the course of an entire night, this adds, on average, about 22 minutes to its transit across the sky.

So, in other words, "it depends."

  2. by moon out you mean the distance from the earth.. to the moon?

    its about 240,000 miles..

    about 1.5 light seconds

  3. The earth declination is about +/- 23.5 degrees on the sun's orbit. This is why we have seasons.

The moon declination is about +/- 5 degrees on the earth's orbit. It means that the moon is out roughly 11 to 13 hours per day.

Of course, the moon is not so easy to see during daytime and especially at the new moon since it is then very close to the sun's position. But at full moon, it rises pretty much when the sun goes down and sets at sunrise.

  4. Moon out half day every day...average.  Assume English not first language.

  5. if u mean like how long do u get to see it the answer is24 hrs because u always see it

  6. The moon is out 12 hours each day.  You can't always see it because sometimes it is out during the day and is overpowered by the sun.  Often you can see it during the day, if it is not too close to the sun.

When the moon is full, it rises right around sunset and shines all night until sunrise.  As it wanes, it rises later each night, and stays out later each morning.  You can still see it in the western sky after the sun comes up in the east.  As it moves into the new moon phase, you can see it come up just before sunrise, but it disappears when the sun comes up and you can't see it during the day because it is too close to the sun.

After a week or so, it appears behind the sun after sunset, and then follows the sun over the horizon..  Gradually, it gets farther away from the sun each night, and waxes brighter and stays out longer, until it is full again.
