If I fly from London, Heathrow to Malaysia (I'm not too sure where abouts), how long about will it take on the plane? Because i am doing so in 5 weeks and I want to know if it would be better to fly at night where i can sleep through it?

  1. 12 - 13 hours.  Usually a night flight anyway.

  2. It's going to be a long flight, so you'll definitely be able to get some shut-eye! You're right -- choosing a red-eye (a flight leaving at night) would probably be easier; your body will already be tired, so you'll hopefully be able to fall asleep a little easier (and stay asleep a little longer!) If you take a day flight, you're sitting there awake for an awfully long time, which will not only make the flight seem like it's going more slowly, but will also leave you pretty tired once you get to Malaysia -- you'll be ready to crash, rather than refreshed from napping on the plane.

A non-stop flight from London Heathrow to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (which is very likely the airport you'll fly into, though you may then need to take a connecting flight to get to your final destination) will take about 12 and a half hours on the way out there and about 13 on the way back. If you take a flight with connections, it's obviously going to tack some time onto that journey, depending on where you make a layover and how long you stay.

Good luck, have a great flight, and enjoy your time in Malaysia!
