Well it depends on what the coach and directors want. Their is 6 on the court at all times. So there can be as little as 6 players, which doesn't happen too much. Normally thier are about 9 or so players on a team. It depends on the skill of the players. Dont you know anything!?!?

it depends.  you're like only supposed to have 6 on the court but you can rotate in.  and if only five people show up then you play fives. etc.  ( for recreation, like not really serious volleyball )  .  other wise no more than six and no less than six.  if you have less than six and you're playing in like a league, then you'll probably have to either reschedule or forefit. i play volleyball.........and i'm pretty sure that is correct info but srry if it's not!  hope this helps!!!!!!!!

oh and like beach volleyball, like in the olympics, it's 2 players.   you mean how many are on the court, right? not like how many people who use yahoo play volleyball, right?  if you don't , well i don't know because there is A LOT of pple who use yahoo. and probably a lot who use yahoo AND play volleyball.  including moi. lol ( me in french if u didn't already know that ) :-)  once again hope this helps

Well... I know a lot people who play volleyball... but I don't know if I'd call them players.  I think you have to take the ratio of all the people over 6 foot 3 and men with hairy backs and then divide by the circumference of jupiter.....

Anyways, I'll assume that you want to know how many players can be on the court at the same time for any one team?  It depends on the league.  In normal hardcourt it's a maximum of 6 (and many leagues don't have minimums or have a minimum of 2).  In professional sand it's two.

There is a little known, but none-the-less official version of volleyball played in ethnic Chinese communities called 9-man. There is no rotation (permanent specialization). They have 5 front row players, 1 "libero" who plays dink coverage behind the block, and then 3 back row players who dig. On a typical play they will run all 5 attackers on quick sets (simultaneously), and run one or two from the back row. It is amazingly fast. If you get the chance, please see it.

Usually, indoor volleyball is played by 6 players, who rotate clockwise, and who usual specialize into one of five positions: setters, middle blockers, outside hitters, opposite, and libero.

Outdoor volleyball is usually played by 2 players.

In both indoor and outdoor variants, people play with any number of players from 2 to 6.

I've even seen a guy play 1 against 6. He served 15 aces (not in a row) to win.

depends on the league or venue.  indoor, outdoor, beach.....

Indoor is usually 6 however i've played 4's.

Beach varies, I play 2's usually but there is 4's and 6's.
