The amount of alcohol varies with the brand.  U.S. brands might be a little weaker.  I have some Spanish champagne "Segura Viudas" and it is 11.5% alcohol.  I get pretty drunk on that and I'm 5' 9" and about 160 pounds.  Is it enough, give it time.  Champagne hits you hard, and all at once not slowly.
