  1. There are different taxi companies :

The cheapest are Panatax , mostly old Lada's. OK Taxi , Transur , Habanatax etc costs a bit more . The prices are between 0.45 up to 0.8-09 CUC /km ( 1 CUC= 0.9 US $)

This are official taxis with a meter . There are also illegal taxis , beware for this sometimes you pay more than for a normal legal taxi.

Always ask price before you leave.

  2. Watch out for taxis in Havana, they like to scam you for money you have to be smart. Especially during the night they don't turn on the meter which means all the profit is going in to their pockets to think you would get a few dollar discount for that you are wrong might be even two or 5 bucks higher your most secure way is to ask them while entering the taxi to turn on the meter remember the license plate if you run into trouble. in Holguin I never had any problems the taxis have to log their trips remember they are afraid of authorities if you ask them to turn on the meter they will most likely do it if they don't find another taxi

  3. Oh hey I remember you! So I guess you know for sure where you want to go for 'la música cubana'...baila baila! lol...are you going soon? Whenever you go, have an awesome time!

Here are links with the information you need:

They generally ask for $3 for a trip around town, but you should be able to find transport for 20 pesos. Cars will find you, honk, and offer to take you. Just tell them "I’ll pay 20 pesos to ______ (destination)" and, if they turn you down, try the next taxi until someone accepts. Cubans pay much less.

    Sample taxi prices:

    Havana-Pinar del Rio: $15

    Havana-Cienfuegos: $40, or $14 per person

Santiago-Holguin: offer dropped from $40 to $25 without even trying

    Havana-Santa Clara: $10

    Havana-Sancti Spiritus: $15

Havana-Jovellanos (in Matanzas province): $45 for the 3 1/2 hour trip

    Santa Clara-Trinidad $25

    TAXI

The taxi is the easiest way to move around in Havana. The cheapest ones are Panataxi 55-5555,Micar 24-2444 or 24-2715, and taxi Havana.

PanaTaxis are a medium-cost option. for example a trip from Nuevo Vedado district to Vedado (2,5 km) runs around $2 USD.
