How much do dehumidifiers cost?

How much do dehumidifiers cost? I live in an English basement apartment.Once in a while a centipede comes passing thru.I'm really afraid of those things because I have heard horror stories about their bites.My aunt lived in Hawaii and she said the locals told her that if she get bit by a centipede that she will be ill for 6 months.I was told that a dehumidifier will keep the centipedes away. Where can I get one? How much are they?

Centipedes can be killed with blackflag spray.  Or a big wack with a shoe.  I once saw a 6" long centipede crawling on the ceiling and I knock it down with a broom and my shoe  ate it.  I was surprise it got so big without getting smashed....lol

I don't think a dehumidifiers will help you.  They are coming from rotten leaves and wood around your building.  Spray around your house with malathion and rake up leaves and rotten wood.  They were coming in my house until I sprayed.  I used a sprayer attached to garden hose and sprayed the entire perimeter of my house.  I found dead ones by the thousands the ground was covered.  I have not seen any this year.  I have been keeping leaves raked up. If you live in apartment spray around your walls this will help.  When you find them they should be dead.  The malathion is sold any place that sells pesticide.
