Question:

How much is my handgun worth?

I have an almost brand new handgun I'm going to sell. How much is it worth?

It's a TAURUS .38 Special Ultra Lite Snub Nose revolver. The model # is YD 76186. It's only had about 20 rounds fired through it other than that it's brand new.

I just don't want to get ripped off when I sell :D Please give me a good guideline of it's worth. Do guns go up or down in value over time??

  1. If your state allows private sales that is the way to go

A gun shop is going to give you about 70% of what it is worth, and that's if they are a good honest shop

If you are antsy about selling to an individual get a two way receipt and/or require a CCW

The best place to list is on your states gun forum

Never use the manufacturer's MSRP as a pricing tool they are already at about 25% to #0% over market value

That particular gun I could have sold in a few hours for $300

I am seeing plain ole Taurus 85s going for $250 every day I even sold a Rossi for $250 in an hour

Some guns go up in value some do not

Almost none will go down in value unless you paid too much to begin with

  2. the value went down in this case cuz it aint an antiqe but if the specs are as follows you want at least 200-300 bucks :

    Type :Revolver

    Action :Single / Double

    Caliber :38 Special

    Barrel Length :4"

    Capacity :6 rd

    Safety :Transfer Bar

    Grips :Black Rubber

    Sights :Adjustable

    Weight :31 oz

    Finish :Stainless

be careful who you sell it to try selling it to a gun shop b4 u try to sell it to people so u dont get in trouble

  3. Taurus is a mid range firearm.  It is starting to come into its own, as the big boys are going through the roof (Colt, S&W, Ruger).  A lot depends on where you live, andif there is a demand for a short barreled firearm.  Try going on line to the Taurus website, and see what they are new.  You should expect to mark it down about 25%, as a used handgun.

  4. G'Day my god yr hot.lol.$300 i recon but with yr smile you might get $400.cheers mate

  5. Value depends on Brand, Model, and condition.* Go here for your information regarding your Taurus.*..> gunbroker.com, auctionarms.com, gunsamerica.com......

  6. $250-$300 I would guess
