  1. If you mean income tax, here are the rates for the Financial Year 2007-2008 (ends on Monday)

    For incomes between $1 – $6,000  

    Nil tax payable

    For incomes between $6,001 – $30,000

    Tax payable is 15c for each $1 over $6,000

    For incomes between $30,001 – $75,000  

    Tax payable is $3,600 plus 30c for each $1 over $30,000

    For incomes between $75,001 – $150,000

    Tax payable is $17,100 plus 40c for each $1 over $75,000

    For incomes $150,001 and over

    Tax payable is $47,100 plus 45c for each $1 over $150,000

    All taxpayers must also pay a Medicare levy of 1.5%. Some high income earners who do not have private health insurance must pay an additional 1% Medicare levy surcharge

    All of the above rates will change from1st July, 2008
