  1. how much furniture are we talking about; what would a mover charge 75/hour ?; make sure you let him know what you will charge before you do the moving; this can put an employee in an awkward situation out of the office; I think the boss is tacky to ask but don't be afraid to charge.

  2. Charge him 50 cents per mile, each way.

  3. What I've done in similar situations (when trying to price a service I'm offering), is to call around to a couple commercial places and see how much they would charge.  Then offer your sife's boss a significant discount.  Offhand I would say $20/hr plus truck expenses would be in the ballpark.

  4. For business use of a vehilcle, the IRS allowance is currently $0.485 per mile - which in this case might be from the mileage you leave your place to returning to your place.

You should also call U-haul and see what a day rental would be.

  5. Cheap movers charge $50.00 per hour for a two man crew. That includes vehicle and travel time.

  6. It is going to cost you 8 gallons of fuel, so take the price of a gallon of fuel and multiply that by 8. Add the value of your time and labor, and you should come up with a fair figure!

  7. see how much gas you used...and the time...if you don't want to charge too much....charge him like 50 on top of the gas...that would be labor for you picking up the stuff.
