How much water is too much?

My wife challenged me to drink 4 gallons of water in a 12hr period is this safe or will i die?

Drinking too much water can actually wash away important electrolites, I would not do it.

No it will not kill you. You may have to urinate a lot if you do complete the challenge, but other than that it is perfectly safe.

You will not die, but drinking this much water can throw off your sodium balance in your body so make sure to eat some salty foods during that day and if you start to feel anything off stop drinking so much.

no you are fine. death or illness associated with water intoxication happens when you don't urinate out what you have drank and the water starts accumulating in your body. So... just make sure you pee, when you have to!!
