How set connection of wireless network?

Question

I have a adsl connection.I want to connect my desktop pc with internet , and also my laptop(wireless) with internet. I have Netgear DG834 and in order to go to admin area(of router) i have to connect through laptop(wireless)instead of destop pc!(why?-shouldnt i connect via desktop pc?)Anyway , i do some settings at the router,but finally i cannot get connected.What should i do?(now i connect with my previous router-that doesnt support wireless network)

That is strange, usually its the wireless units that won't connect to admin but the fix now is to reset the router to factory settings (defaults) and resetup the router.

To restore the factory default configuration settings without knowing the administration password

or IP address, you must use the Default Reset button on the rear panel of the router.

1. Press and hold the Default Reset button until the Test LED turns on (about 10 seconds).

2. Release the Default Reset button and wait for the router to reboot.

This has to be done with the unit powered ON.
