How should i start acting?

Im 17 years old and im a junior in high school I want to act but I dont know where to start?I am pretty bad at it and i want to know where i can practice and how to be a Actor?I would like to be in movies that type of acting you know.maybe

First off you have to forget about what anyone else may think of you for coming out and wanting to act, including your friends and parents. After you get over that step, which seems easy but isnt, then you have to think of what you want to do. You want to do a self examination and really get a feel of what kind of character you can play, not what you want to play (nerd, genious, prep/jock, athlete, artist, etc..). This step may take asking random people what kind of person they initially see you as, but it will give you a headstart on everyone else that just wants to be the main character in a movie no matter that persons personality or limitations. Then you want to find some good reputable places located near you that offer acting classes. Not only will you gain a heck of a lot of knowledge that you never knew existed with acting, but you will also gain some acting friends who will let you know of different castings every now and then, and a relationship with people who know people. After all of that you will be in a position to truly steer your acting career however you want, or at least in a better position lol. good luck
