How to be a surgeon?

Can someone tell me what is required to start med school for a career in surgery. I did not have the best grades in high school but they were not terrible i think i had a 3.0 gpa. Please help me get started

Generally medical schools look at the last results you got. So in the US, that would be your college results.

Your high school grades are nullified by the more recent college results. So, work hard in your college courses, and don't worry about your GPA.

Grades in high school (at least in the US) don't really matter except in that they get you into college.  Med schools do not look at your high-school grades.

If you're just starting college, now is the time to get serious about grades, because that is what they'll look at, especially the grades in your pre-requisites and in your major.  There is no truth to the rumor that you can't get into med school with a less-than-perfect transcript, but there is no doubt that higher is better and that grades of C or below in the pre-reqs would not be helpful to you.

As far as surgery is concerned, that's a competitive residency, so doing well in medical school is what's needed for that.  But it sounds like you're still a ways away from worrying about residency.  To get started, do well in your undergraduate work, and review thoroughly and do well on the MCAT.  That'll get you on the right path to get into medical school.
