How to cash my paycheck?

I'm 16 with my first paycheck from a summer job. I don't have a checking account and would really prefer to not have to open one. How do I acsh it though without fees etc. This is a stupid question yes. Thanks.

Some places - some gas stations for ex. - will allow you to use your check if you buy something, like a pack of cigs.

Go to the bank that the check came from

they should not charge you

Endorse the back of the check (endorse means sign), have your parents give you the amount of your check, and they can deposit your paycheck in their account so it can clear.  This is the standard way most youth 'cash' their first paychecks.  

Either that, or you can open a simple savings account at the same bank where you parents bank.  This way you can cash your paychecks without fees, and even save some $$ if you wish.

If neither of those works for you, I would suggest you visit the local bank that your paycheck is drawn on (the bank name listed on the check - which is where your employer banks), and cash it there.  Although be warned, they will usually want a thumbprint from you, and may even charge you a fee - even though the check was drawn at their location :-(.

If it's a local bank that the check is from, you could try that bank.
