How to clean up acid spillage?

A box of Arm and Hammer baking soda poured onto the acid will go a long way towards neutralizing any acids.

It's what we use on sulfuric acid that gets spilled out of our wet batteries.

Don't you have a Chemical Spill Kit in your laboratory? Every accredited lab should have one...don't understand why you don't...

the use of a suitable alkali sprayed on or mixed with the spilled acid to reduce it to a 0 p,h,  or near 0 p.h. you will need protective clothing i.e. rubber gloves welly boots & goggles carefully mop up spillage into a suitable receptacle (plastic or glass ), dilute the remainder with water & re mop.

If its a small amount depending where spillage occurred turn hose on it for quite some time to wash it away.

chemical hygiene and safety must be taken in the course called EHS 348 which you can find with your supervisor.

You cannot just have a quick fix for an acid spill, each acid is different and precautions must be taken according to the chemical spill. Don't forget the air is also poisoned.
