How to control ESP?

I am a novice at esp, but i do know i possess the ability to transmit to other human beings my thoughts. For example: When I am talking to someone, I can think of a certain word I would like them to say and transmit it. The word I thought of is mentioned almost instantly. I almost can “feel” the touch in their mind and the curious feeling they get when I push a word upon them.

Another example is in the water, when I am swimming. (I am a competitive swimmer, just fyi). I can, for one, transmit into the water the number of cycles left in a set and someone, no one in specific, will realize that number and mention it. I have found that water is a stronger medium and I can project easier…

My problem then? How do I control this “ESP”? Sometimes I think bad things and it gets projected to others. I don’t want to do that any longer.

  1. I think you're making more of this than you need to.  You don't have ESP, you have an active imagination mixed with something called confirmation bias.  You remember your hits and forget your misses.  Not that I blame you, since you have a lot of time to think while swimming.

The first thing to do is to make certain you have it - you're mentioned a few tests here, but they could be coincidences.  First, you mentioned that you can 'make' people say a certain word in conversations.  Isn't it possible that you are picking common words that could easily be a part of that conversation?  Here's a test you could do to see if you have the power, or if you're fooling yourself.  Get a friend and tell them you want to test your ESP.  Write a bunch of common words on slips of paper, put them in a hat, and draw them at random.  Don't let your friend see the word, but try to send them the word telepathically.  If they know the word most of the time, you're on your way to winning a million bucks from this guy http://www.randi.org .  But if they can't, maybe you've been fooling yourself.

    As for swimming, isn't it probable that someone is counting how many cycles you have left?  I find it very unlikely that you are somehow 'transmitting' this through water and air without speaking - isn't the other idea more likely?  Try transmitting a different number that has nothing to do with swimming next time - like 187.  See if someone says that.

  3. Practice, practice, practice. No one can tell you how to control it -- you just do. Everyone learns the control in their own way due to the fact that everyone's minds are different. What works for one person might not necessarily work for you. Just focus your will on what you want and use different techniques for allowing your will to push out -- or stop pushing out -- what you are transmitting.....

    One of the most painful things about this talent is the fact it takes us so long to master, and that we have to live with what we've done while getting to that point.

  4. That's an interesting ability. In order to control it, I'd suggest that you learn more about it. See exactly how powerful it is.

    This is what I suggest. In the morning, make up a list of 10 obscure words that people don't usually say. Now use your powers on 10 people during the day. That will give you plenty of data. I don't want to make this complex with a statistical analysis, so let's just say if you get a 50% hit rate, that would be pretty amazing. Let us know if you do this and what your results are, and please also let us know which words you used. Good luck!

  5. The problem of "Tuning in" or "Projecting" is that you get flashes of info - like if you were sharing wavelenghths with other minds. You cannot cause bad things, you are only "tuning in" to future events. Don't let your anxiety get the better of you, just ignore the extra stuff and concentrate on the things most important to you.

    If you can get a chance to get into a body of water with Dolphins you can test your water theory and have some fun. Don't ask me how I knew that!

    Ok skeptics and others can give me thumbs down if you like.

  6. This is an interesting question, star to you.

    I wish I or anyone else who has ever studied ESP had an answer for you.

    However, I do have some ideas that you could try based on the information that is known. ESP is usually fairly unreliable and the effects are small in a laboratory setting.

    The Ganzfeld experiments have produced positive results in allowing ESP information to come to conscious awareness by reducing (not eliminating) other sensory input (mainly visual and auditory) so you have nothing else to focus on but your own thoughts and impressions.

    ESP is thought by most parapsychologist to be a natural human ability so it could be improved (and controlled) by practice. I have included a link that will provide you with several online psi tests/games to allow you to practice.

    As far as simply controlling your thoughts during conversation I would suggest almost any method of meditation or focused concentration. However, I like that conversations with others makes me think about things (and possibly some things that seem in no way directed to the immediate conversation) and I wouldn't change this if I could.

  8. u are not projecting ur thoughts...has it ever occurred to u that people are more receptive to the reactions of other people than u think? ur facial expressions and body movements are telling the person those "thoughts." if u think u have esp, go to a psychologist and if he doesn't admit u, find one that will

    that pool example... ur not the only one that keeps tabs on things...

    Once I was having a conversation with someone and was

    thinking about another with the thought of,'not about nothing.'

    When the person that I was speaking to said the same line,I thought to myself,

    Opps,better keep only good thoughts around.

    Water is a good conductor,and is related to emotions as well.

    I think that you're on to something intangible.

  10. To control it you need to realize that you don't really have it. If you do, feel free to prove it to me. Send me a word or something. The funny thing is YOU CAN'T PROVE IT 'CAUSE IT'S FAKE! : ) nothing personal. I just have a little frustration with this kind of thing because of cons and the general naivety of humanity.

  11. This isn't really as hard to fix as everyone thinks.

    All you need to do is put up a mental barrier. Think of a brick wall or some other object that you believe will stop your thoughts from going through, and keep part of your mind focused on your item. It's called a physic shield. As long as you keep part of your mind focused on your object no thoughts should be able to pass either way into or out of your mind.

    The hardest part is to train yourself to keep your focus at least in part on your shield. If you feel your shield in not working or strong enough just focus harder on it, use more of your will to make it bigger, thicker, or stronger.

    It's worked for me for over 20 years.
