I have a question, my mum won't let me go to the pool to train for the races, because I can't drive I need a way to convince her, also if you can't give any suggestions for convincing can you tell me another way to train, to help me get better at swimming? Thanks

  1. swimming really helps with school too- it helps you focus more and listen better.

  2. Why not is the real question....Swimmers have great healthy bodies and are less prone to being corrupted by smoking, drinking and drugs as a general rule.  Not only is it one of the best overall sports for physical development, it is the only sport that can save your life.  if you fall off of a boat or get pushed into a pool or lake, you have the ability to save yourself.   The only way to become a better swimmer is to swim.  I feel bad for you that your mum is against it.  Unlike suggesting a kid do something that is proven bad for you, I have no problem saying that if you want to do it, then do it.  You will not regret the learning ans skills you will acquire.  Good luck.

  3. hmm i understand where you are coming from, my mom drove me 50 min away everyday for 4 years to swim, faithfuly, i never missed a practice. if you show your "mum" (which i think is some sort of flower) that its what you love she is probably willing to drive you, try carpooling? or riding your bike if possible, thats extra work out!

  4. That is a great thing you are trying to convince your mom to do. Pity she disagrees. Anyway, tell her that you think swimming is fun and its a good way to exercise. Swimming is a great sport in sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo... many ways. Tell her that if i cant swim, i might as well become a couch potatoe or something to tell her ull get lazy if you dont swim..somehting like that.

You can try carpooling with some1 else. I am a competitive swimmer, and my parents drive me to practice everyday after work.

    hope this helps :)

  5. tell her its something you love to do and to help keep you in shape instead of being a couch potatoe.
