How to create a t-shirt

I want to get a white or some colored t-shirt and draw a design on it. What type of markers should I use that will not wash out, or what should I do after I'm done drawing to make sure the ink doesn't wash out? Note: sharpies don't work (they fade)

  1. there are special markers made for fabric. local arts store have them. they last a long time.

  2. Like people said, get fabric markers. They have them at pretty much all craft stores. After you're done drawing, iron over it because the heat will set it and make it last longer.

  3. Make sure to use a fabric marker, they work wonders and are specially designed to work on fabric (hence the name). Wash the shirt inside out to ensure the colors don't fade. http://www.dickblick.com/categories/fabr...

If all else fails, consider getting an iron-on design. Not exactly sure how those work, but they sure are permanent.

  4. go to the place that they custom design t-shirt to find out.

  5. you can draw the design, scan it onto your computer, then print it off on iron transfer paper and iron the design on

don't forget to flip the image!

  6. You can always draw up your designs and photograph them and then make iron-on transfer patterns on your computer printer and do it that way though hand painted designs do look much nicer if you use washable fabric paints or markers like the lady above me said and are available at your local craft or art supply stores, aswellas the iron-on transfer paper.
