log into the group and at the main page bottom right there's a leave this group tab.

To delete a group go to: "Management" of your group's homepage and then in the lower right hand corner of the screen will be an option that says, "Delete Group".  When you click on that it will ask if you are sure that you want to delete the group.  Click on "Yes" and then the group will be deleted.

If however, you decide that you want to have the group again in the future you will need to recreate the group.

If you’re the group owner or a moderator with the necessary privileges to delete a group, you’ll see the link to delete a group in the lower-right corner of the Management page. The management page link is on the left-hand side list of your group's homepage.

Important: Deleting a group is permanent! Proceed with caution.

If you click the Delete group button, you’ll remove the group from Yahoo! Groups, unsubscribe all members, and eliminate all archives, shared files, and calendars.

You must be the owner to do so.  If you are,  click on  management,  lower left side of cover page. Look to your right and you will see the button  delete group.
