How to eliminate turntable rumble?

i have an akai belt drive tt connected to sansui amp with phono input and philips speakers. all is ok while playing cd,dvd,tv etc except when playing the turntable. the speakers move back and forth a lot along with distortion and hum even in one forth the volume. i guess it is called rumble and it may damage my 8'' woofers. all connections and set up is ok. the turntable is also as good as new, please advice.

1. make sure your speakers are not aimed at your turntable.

2. place the turntable on something rubbery to absorb vibration from the floor and table. Like a piece of foam rubber.

I recall reading about lubricating the bearings that the turntable turns on.  You disassemble the table, clean and lubricate the bearings or replace them for a smoother rotation.  Hope that helps.  It's been a while.

Reduce the tonearm friction. The rumble occurs due to dragging in the turnable, which in turn is causing the motor to load down, thus creating the noise. If you have an adjustable tonearm, adjust the counterbalance.
