I have a Suzuki Katana 97.. the gas leaks slowly out from under the gas container where the gas gauge is attached. There are two things coming out one is the wires to read the gas levels to the gauge I believe the other just goes to nowhere?!?! Where should that be attached to? And do I need a new gasket or something? The link posted is a picture I took of the bottom of the gas container.. the brass colored with the two things coming out the one on the right leads to nothing?!?! http://img145.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pic0622081ri5.jpg

  2. The hose is a drain hose.

When you're filling the tank, any gas that gets spilled around the gas cap, drains down a little hole (flip open the gas cap to see it).

That hole is connected to a pipe that runs down through the tank and out of the tube in the fuel level gauge on the bottom.

The hose connects to nothing on the other end.

Route it down to the ground (usually goes around the rear of the engine) - do not let it drip onto the hot exhaust.

There is a gasket between the fuel level gauge and the tank.

From the picture, it looks like one of the screws are missing.

    Replace the gasket.
