Question:

How to get faster.?

I have been running for about 6 weeks now about 4-5 times a week. In my first 5k I ran 33 minutes (5 weeks ago) and for about the last month I have been consistantly running a 5k in about 30 minutes.

What can I do to get under 30 minutes? Will I naturally just get faster or is there a certain way I should be training?

Finally, I am just starting to add weight training on my off running days and it is really difficult!! Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should or shouldn't do to affect my runs?

Thanks :)

  1. I run 5ks too. As long as you keep practicing for a couple months, you should just naturally get faster times. If you don't, you can just look it up on the internet. There should be training exercises there.

  2. Run, Run, RUN!, let your body get use to it, and then it should slowly get used to your wanted speed.

  3. just keep running gradually youll become faster. takes patience

  4. Go there for the timetable and tips for 5 km training:

    Good luck in your training...

  5. if u keep running u will get to ur goal, cause when ur run more and more ur body wil adjust then it will want to run it faster each time.  Its a slow progress but a rewarding one.  Keep it up!
