So school's starting pretty soon, and I messed up my freshman year pretty bad! And I'm an upcomming sophmore this year. Right now I'm thinking because of that I just messed up my whole future . I really don't know what to do, all the credits that I need to get and all this stuff has been really stressing me out lately so I just need some advice on how to turn things around. Any type of advice or help would be much appreciated thank you.

  1. Since you still have three years left in high school, show that you've changed and try your best to get the highest grades you can. I didn't do so well in 8th grade, but to me, high school is an opportunity to show that I can do better. Your grades from last year may still be on your record, but that doesn't mean you should give up all together! Try to do your homework as soon as you can after school and really focus this year. Once you start doing better academically, joining a club or a sport will probably help you look better when applying for colleges (if that's what you want to do - some people don't).

This book might help - I found it in a bookstore and it's really usefull for figuring out how to do well in your high school years. It's called From Here to Freshman Year (I think it's published by Kaplan, but I'm not sure) and will really help for the rest of your high school years so you can make up for the bad grades you got in 9th grade.

  2. u wouldn't like this but to really get more credit u have to do an extended class after school.

  3. Me too! i screwed up my freshman year just in math though but i did have lower grades in other classes as well, but i failed math and had to go to summer school, but hey you're gonna be fine! just start improving because I hear when college's look at you're transcript they're gonna see that large improvement you've made, but hey have fun and when you're in class do your work and homework (which i goofed off made people laugh and everything LOL and failed) so just make sure you pay attention in class and I'm also a sophmore now so good luck!!! :)

  4. Just be yourself, enjoy yourself but don't lose sight of the future.  Meaning, ONE: when things get too low, don't lose hope, high school, especially the early years, don't matter much in the long run. And TWO: don't do stupid stuff that you'll regret later.  Remember actions have consequences.

Don't take everything too seriously.  I did my sophomore year and...it sucked.  If you are too stressed out, try to cut back on as many extra activities as you can, and make sure you aren't expelling all your energy with "friends" and people who you can't relax around.  If you need to, don't be afraid to talk to a trusted parent or counselor or someone, whether it's about managing stress, cutting down on your schedule, or anything.  Don't underestimate the possible damage of long term stress.

Just remember, it's never to late to be who you want to be.  (umm...I don't that sounds cheesy, but it's true.)
