  2. To improve your vocabulary, read a lot of English material such a newspapers, books, magazines. Learn new words on daily basis using the dictionary. Speak in English with someone who is your well-wisher and can encourage you always. Don't feel discouraged if someone points-out your mistakes, learn from your mistakes. Watch English News Channels and discussion/debate topics on TV. Make a habit to write one page note on any topic of your choice daily, using the new words you have learnt. This will gradually augment your speaking power. Do pay attention on your grammar besides enhancing your vocabulary.

  3. Reading is really the first step.  Don't be satisfied with skipping words you don't understand.  Have a dictionary ready, and write down all the words with their definitions.

Some people actually read the whole dictionary.  I haven't felt that was necessary for myself.  There is so much to read that's interesting and informative.

After you find that what you read in most popular magazines is easily understandable, then you might look into some technical reading.  But don't neglect the classics.  You should definitely try reading Shakespeare.  So many of the words that we use were coined by him, so it's really impossible to escape him if you really are committed to learning English.

  4. move to the country

  5. Start reading english newspapers and books. Also read books that will help you learn new words. "Word Power made easy" is a good book to start with.
