We bought prefab cabinets for our basement bar, we are finishing them now. Do you have any tips to install them and put in a counter top. Also the floor is a little wavy.

  1. what i do is...set my base/bar cabinets in place where i want them.remove any doors on cabinets that are "in the field"meaning not on either end.clamp the stiles together where the top and face of the cabinet planes with the other .some times it may take awhile.drill a pilot hole through stiles into the other and s***w. i like to use bees wax when i drive the s***w but u can use bar soap or just spit lol.

i fasten the cabs together before i fasten them to the wall bcuz the end product is better ,for me.

once thats done i plumb and level using shims, then s***w into any wall studs ,if any,(since  u may be building bar/island)

counter top ..  if its something heavy i jus lay a bead of silicone on top edge of cabs , then lay it on there,   if not heavy use some 1/2 in. drywall screws in corners through brackets

  2. You can use shims under the cabinets to level them.  If they're attached to the wall it's super easy.  Just set the cabinet level and s***w it to the studs in the wall.

What kind of countertop is it?
