How to keep your room Cool?

During the Day it gets extremely hot in my room,downstairs is a bit cooler but still hot.I only have two windows in my room,I have a computer that produces heat.Is there a way to keep cool without buying an air conditioner?I turn my computer off sometimes and lights off.Does putting the fan(Portable small fans)

on my window work so it sucks air from outside to blow it inside?

what are your tips for staying cool?

open your windows at night and have a fan an oscelating fan in your room. in the morning. close your windows and try and keep it dark in your room. when it begins to cool off outside...open your windows again. this should help a little at least. lol
