How to knock in Cricket bat?

Question

actaully i bought a cricket bat for my netting sessions...because i got 2 brand new custom made bats (Vampire Bas,Aresson)from india for my matches....i have bought a slaz se classic cricket bat for £12 on sale from £60 (all the bats in sports direct in uk are about 80-90% off).....i just wanted to know how shall i knock it in ...i dont have a mallet?

Use an old cricket ball.

But you should use the same bat for practice and matches - you get used to one and then play matches with a different one.

its simple,..Put a cricket ball in your old socks and hung it where you can swing your bat freely, then start hitting,...lol~

the old ball in the sock shud do the trick. i used to do it. u will need to oil the bat a bit more as well .

Put a cricket ball in your old socks and hung it where you can swing your bat freely. Keep hitting the ball as it swings back and forth as if you are actually playing. You may apply the oil especially made for crickets but very sparingly. Our budget was very limited when I was in school and this is how we used to knock our bats and it worked wonderfully.

but a old cricket ball in a sock and use that... But i reccomend that u buy a mallet!!
