How to learn to set?

im an outside hitter and have fairly good hands and my friend is trying out for the jv team while i am trying out for varsity. the other day the jv coach told her that with her passing and hitting skills alone she will not make the team. so the coach suggested she learn to set before tryouts. well tryouts are on monday and my friend wants me to teach her how to set. r there ne drills that i can have her do? or ne important tips i shouldnt leave out? thanks in advance

  1. okay get her to stand no more than 2 feet from any empty wall, preferably a gym wall. her hands need to be no more than 1 and 1/2 inches apart and above her forehead. All her fingers behind the ball. and make her set the ball against the wall very small and very fast. The ball shouldnt come off the wall more than a half foot. Make her do 500. it will burn but it helped me out alot.

    That is just a little drill that i do daily for volleyball.


  2. Have her practice it with you throwing the ball to her and have her set it back to you. Tell her to use her fingertips and arm strength to push the ball. Also, tell her to have her thumbs and index fingers in a triangle shape. Visit my sources and good luck to you and your friend!
