How to make and store rice??

OK, I have this serious problem... I have a nice fancy rice cooker and it makes beautiful fluffy, soft rice. Then if I leave the warmer on with the air tight lid closed, it eventually becomes all hard and dry and you cant eat it. If I put it in the fridge with a lid on top, the next morning it is hard and dry and grose. What the h**l? This makes me not want to make rice any more cause I end up throwing it all out.

  1. quit making so much cut your recipe in half if you can't eat it all.

  2. You should never store it in that cooker pot.. Put it in Tupperware or other airtight sealed container after it has cooled. It will cause pits to form on your metal cooking pot and eventually develop holes. Besides dry out the rice. You have to find a sealable container such as Tupperware, even a Ziploc bag will do as long as it is air tight. If you leave food in any of your cooking pots over the years, they will all have pits, the salt and acids cause errosion on the metal. To reheat just put in a microwave salfe bowl, add a few tablespoons of water, cover with tight lid or saran, heat on med to low for couple minutes and fluff. Just like fresh!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Fluff the rice into a tupperware container and toss with a bit of butter.  That seals the grains and keeps them from getting "grose".
