How to make cleaning fun?

My parents are gone and i've been given to task of cleaning the house T.T Any suggestions things to make it bearable would be appreciated btw im a guy

I used to wear a pair of old sweat socks when I showered. I'd sprinkle cleanser in the bottom of the shower and "ice skate" around. I also would put cleanser in the toilet then throw the cat in and close the lid really, really fast for a couple minutes. I made sure the dog was nearby when I opened the toilet lid to chase the cat outside right away so he didn't get cleanser all over the place. You thought I was gonna be funny and say I "Ice Skated" in the toilet didn't you? Of course this only addresses two fixtures and I'm sure there are more than that to clean. Hopefully you'll get more good suggestions from others.

PS. I've recently hired a cleaning lady...the cat was laying in ambush all the time and the dog got to old to make sure the cat went right outside. I still do the ice skating thing in the shower and it's way more fun doing it with the cleaning lady!

Crank up the tunes!  I tend to clean faster and better when I'm jamming to some good music!  My hubby does the same thing!

Play some music.  Think of it like a video game, where each room is a level, and you can't complete the level until you have completed all of the tasks/quests.  Try to time yourself and see how fast you can do it.

Just tell all your mates they can come round and have an all night binge party, on the condition that they clean the house from top to bottom the next morning.

You will find that everything is smashed, so all you need to do is hike it into the back garden, put a match to it, and wait for your parents to come home. They will then have great fun refurnishing the house. And they will thank you from the bottom of their hearts for getting rid of all that c**p furniture for them.

plug in your ipod/mp3 player.  To make it more bearable for me, I keep up with it so it doesn't seem like a such a huge job, thus making it go faster
