what are some good ways to pace yourself in a xc race and how to train for it? Last race I tried to pace myself and actually got faster as I went but the first race was a shoot and so was the last one because of a tough track and delays.

  1. I race XC myself on a quad. One thing I do is ride a stationary bike the week leading up to the race for about 30 minutes straight. Also drink plenty of fluids. When you are racing, don't go balls to the walls right off the bat. You are not a pro, so don't try it. Last year I was getting tired the last part of the race because I was pushing so hard. Find a nice and steady pace in the beginning, and if you have anything left in you tank, use it at the end. I did this last year, and was actually able to catch the leaders in my class. One of the most important things to remember is breathe. I will actually catch myself breathing out loud just to make sure I am doing it.

  2. Just got to condition your self and remember to breathe out one the track, that can really help if you maintain a consistant breathing rate

  3. welll for any motorbike evnt in sure the first things to give way would be your legs and im sure your feeling it in your forearms. tired and burning? lactic acid! therefore you need to train for lactic acid resistance. do pushups and holding in the down position for 10 seconds go back up and come back down for 9 seconds and so forth all the way up to 2 seconds. when you get to one second instaed of holding for one hold it for 10. if you find this easy start at 15 seconds and go down from there. thi can be done for chin ups in the same way. legs can be trained basically the same way.. go down into making your legs 45 degree angle hold for 10 and jump as HIGH as you can EVERY TIME !! then land back into the same 45 degree position as before and just keep doin this down to 2 seconds then 10 seconds and see how high you can jump after that i promise it wont be very high although depends how fit you are already. general weight training helps aswell! aswel as running or ridin can improve stamina.
