How to properly use WINRAR?

i have winrar, im trying to download a mod for hl2. first of all, ive never figured out how to properly get a game working from the winrar files when it pops up. how? also once its finally downloaded, how do i transfer it to steam. thanks .

It SHOULD have a pretty thorough guide on the website, but I'll give you a little walk-through anyway.

When you install it, save it to the desktop and it will come up as a small pile of books.

double click it, single-click the mod or program, and choose "Extract"

Now, go to My Computer>Drive C:> And save it to the Steam/HL2 Folder
